2010 420 Circuit

 It’s Back! Following the tremendous success of the NSYA 420 Circuit the past three years, we will once again be offering the circuit in order to get more sailors sailing the 420 and to crown a Provincial Champion.

2010 Circuit Events

#1 - ARK Regatta, Bedford Basin Yacht Club                                July 10-11
#2 - Sail East Regatta, North Sydney                                           July 21-24
#3 – Bras d’Or Regatta, Baddeck                                                  August 2-3
#4 – Kennedy Cup, Royal NS Yacht Squadron                                    August 5-6

To be eligible for the Circuit Championship, teams must attend at least three regattas.

What teams can expect at each 420 Circuit Regatta

• Quality Race Management
• Guest Coaches
• At least one day clinic the day before the regatta

Scoring System

NSYA Circuit Points will be awarded as follows;

Position Points X Fleet Size Factor = NSYA 420 Circuit Points
Position Points: Scale goes backwards from 20 to 2.
ie. 1^st place: 20pts, 2^nd place: 19pts…down to 2 pts.
Everyone is awarded a minimum of 2pts.

Fleet Size factor is as follows; 

# of boats                 Factor
1 – 10                         1
11 – 20                       1.25
21 – 30                       1.5
31 – 40                       1.75
41 – 50                       2
51 – 75                       2.5
76 – 100                     3

Example

If in a 26 boat fleet you finish in 4^th place you would be awarded 25.5 points
17 pts (position points) x 1.5 (fleet factor) = 25.5 pts
