Shelburne
Sailors Win Fireball NAs...Again
After three days of racing Guy Tipton & Matt King were successful in repeating as Fireball North American Champions. "The racing was very competitive and the weatherman provided us with both windy and calm conditions" the team stated "We are now looking forward to the Internationals and Fireball Worlds' in Sligo, Ireland in June."
Details here.
Maritime
Ice Boating Championships Held
It was not a very good year for iceboating in Nova Scotia, with not
enough rain to clear the February snows off the lakes, and
temperatures too warm to reliably freeze salt water sailing sites
like Mahone Bay Harbour or the LaHave River. We did get good
sailing days, but it was hard to convince the less than committed
that there were good conditions to be had. Details and link to
videos here.
