NS Sailors Place Well at Youth Nationals |

The Trihedral CYA Youth National Sailing Championships came to a close today with some outstanding performances from Nova Scotia sailors.
Two Nova Scotia teams were on the podium of the 420 fleet. Max Flinn and Andrew Burns won the regatta with Allie Surrette and Minette Murphy finishing 3rd overall. Both teams sail for the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron.
Silver medals were awarded to Nova Scotians in two of the three Laser fleets; Fraser Wells in the full rig, and Devan Dube in the male Radial fleet. Corinne Peters won bronze in the Radial. All three sail for the RNSYS.
There were no Nova Scotia boats in the 29er fleet.

As well, the CYA Youth Nationals was the final event in three Nova Scotia Provincial Championship series.
Dee Osmond from RNSYS won the Under 16 title, Sydney Beatty and Claire Boileau from Lunenburg Yacht Club won the Under 18 championship, and Morgan and Riley Morash (pictured above) from the Hubbards Sailing Club were awarded the 420 Championship.
